I don’t post on my blog very often, as you know, but I couldn’t let this pass without saying a huge ‘thank you’ to anyone and everyone who voted for me.

I’ve changed my website for the first time in five years (I hope you like it!) and even I couldn’t help noticing that my last blog post was an August 2015 update! I do a lot on Facebook, of course, but even so, the prospect of a new website with a blog that was three years out of date was too horrible to contemplate. So, here goes…

I wanted to share some news and, as always it seems, there is good and bad!
Let me get the bad news out of the way first. I’m afraid that my optimism got the better of me and Dead Level will not now be released before Christmas. I know that will disappoint a great many of you but there are two very good reasons for the delay. Firstly, Christmas is not a good time to release a book, I’m told, for the simple reason that there is so much else going on. And, secondly, the contractual niceties took longer to resolve than I had hoped, but therein lies the good news, I am delighted to say 🙂
I have some news but first of all, and most importantly, I’d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has read and enjoyed the DI Nick Dixon Crime Series. Your support, reviews, emails, messages and tweets have kept me going and without them I do not think that I would have persevered to the point that I have now reached (more on that in a moment). What started out as a hobby to keep me busy on the long dark winter nights has grown into something beyond my wildest imaginings. So, thank you!
Now for the news. There’s good and bad, I’m afraid, but I’m hoping you will agree that the good outweighs the bad!

Nick Dixon
The DI Nick Dixon Crime Series is best read in order, not only for the development of the characters, which I have always intended should progress over the whole series, but also because the books follow on in close chronological order.
Having said that, each book is a standalone thriller and can be read in isolation. A few loose ends from the previous book are tied up at the start of the next but the substantive story starts and finishes in the one book. Either way, I hope you enjoy them!
